Taylor (A0.872470).This is an arrangement of the National Anthem for beginning band. If they can play the concert Bb scale by Christmas, they can play this at their Christmas concert. Range and rhythms are all considered but the music still sounds advanced. You have the option of using a snare/BD roll as opposed to what I wrote, and you can change the straight 8ths to dotted 8th /16th if you wish where the rhythm is traditionally played.
Melody-flute, oboe, trumpet, bells
harmony 1 -alto sax
harmony 2 - horn and tenor sax
bass line - bassoon, bass clarinet, bari sax, trombone, baritone (both BC and TC provided) and tuba.
The trumpet never goes above the written 3rd space C. the clarinet never crosses the break. The horn never plays above the written 2nd space A. there are a few accidentals, retards and dynamics, but I bet your students would be excited to play this.
This is level one. I am going to arrange up to four or five levels, each more advanced. I Hope you like this arrangement.
