Jedes der 14 Stücke weist einen besonderen Schwerpunkt auf, wie z. B. ein bestimmtes Intervall, eine eigene Spieltechnik, einen charakteristischen Rhythmus oder eine durchgängige Klangfarbe. Die Stücke sind musikalisch anspruchsvoll, aber technisch relativ leicht zu bewältigen. Die Komponistin legt Wert darauf, dass genügend Freiraum bleibt um eigene musikalische Stimmungen einzubauen und den Stücken einen eigenen Ausdruck zu verleihen.
