Published by Innovative Percussion (IP.S-MF-MOO).Premiered in Lima, Peru in 2014, Moon Chasers is about two people in love who are separated over a long distance and connected only by the moon. This solo's soaring themes and introspective sensitivity create a wonderful recital work for advanced marimbists. The work, dedicated to Mark's wife Ewelina, will serve as the musical foundation for the first movement of an upcoming concerto. Instrumentation: 5-octave marimba.

Beautiful and musical
The patterns in the main core make it easy to learn the notes and the phrasing, and there are a few tricky spots that make this piece a challenge. Not too big of a challenge, but it's not a piece you can blow through either. It's a great piece to express and explore musicality. There's also a certified recording of Mark Ford performing this piece on YouTube!
