By Christopher M. Wicks. Missa Brevis sets the entire texts of the four sections of the Ordinary of the Latin Mass other than the Credo. The musical language is pandiatonic, with soft dissonances off-setting a largely modal harmonic basis. This piece was premiered on 27 June 2004 at the Jihlava Choral Festival in the Czech Republic, and received third prize in the festival's worldwide composition contest.
