In my time teaching at Mount St. Joseph University, I have
heard many timpani auditions, and I have also judged numerous
All-State, All-District, and Solo and Ensemble festivals. These
pieces highlight, in short form, what I commonly want more of
from these moments. With these compositions, I have
endeavored to satisfy these hopes, as well as my own sense of
musicianship, and I hope you enjoy studying and performing
them! If a longer performance is desired, perform a few pieces
together, presented as movements, or do the whole book! The
