Arranged by Gavin Koh. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas,Standards. Score. 11 pages. Gavin Koh #3896811. Published by Gavin Koh (A0.874413).
The MikroKhristmas project follows in the footsteps of Bela Bartok's MikroKosmos. The premise was to essentially see
what happens when Christmas songs start employing a strange time signature.
In the project 8 public domain Christmas songs have been chosen and then subjected to peculiar time signatures. They have then been engraved as miniature études to challenge the discerning pianist. The songs are:
1. Angels We Have Heard on High in 9/16
2. Deck the Halls in 1/2
3. Hark the Herald Angels Sing in 5/4
4. It Came Upon a Midnight Clear in 7/4
5. Joy to the World in 15/4
6. O Come, All ye Faithful in 3/8
7. Silent Night in 11/8
8. Toyland in 13/8
