IV Erik has to stay in a hotel and the manager sings about the many different animals in the filled rooms. V A song about snails. The snails are lazy, only sleeping, no working. VI A song about butterflies. One of the butterfly-girls is going to marry. Her sisters sing: enjoy life, fly in the sun, you become a mother soon enough and then it's over. VII About gravediggers, it's a kind of insect, 'one's dead is anothers bread' as we say in Holland. VIII About spiders, female spiders ask Erik to advise them about eggs, webs and so on. They think he is an expert with his book of insects.
