Masterpieces of Piano Music
Excellent book; many pieces I've never played before and several composers that are new to me.

Masterpieces et al.
Carl Fisher (Publisher) has certainly gotten a lot of mileage out of this volume. First published in 1918, but they haven't bothered to correct numerous errors. Example: In Rustle of Spring, (great piece, hasn't become dated, is not as difficult as it looks (since the arpeggios are localized), my teacher loved it, and asked who 'Sinding' was! [Norwegian successor to Grieg]) page 160, bar 14, left hand, the flat sign is on the wrong line. Since there are 221 pieces and no composer or page index, I created three indexes for Composer (Chopin 'won,' with eight pieces. Mendelssohn 'second,' with seven, Beethoven was a distant 4th or 5th with five. Verdi had six.), page and Genre (there are five berceuses, three grand marches, and five gavottes). Comes to almost 700 lines on an excel spread sheet. Email for a copy.

Masterpieces of Piano Music
I always love this book when I learn piano at my childhood days. I am sixty now but still remember how I enjoy playing the songs of this book. But I just found there is no The Maiden's prayer in the song list. Did they scrap this song from this book?

Maeterpieces of Piano Music
I am 92, trying to recover some treasures . I wanted Crescendo, remembered from a thick book I had in 1935, and never seen elsewhere. Finally recalled the exact title of the book so I could order. New cover, same printing plates, same problem keeping thick book open, but worth the trouble.Has every piece you ever played and a lifetime of untried new treasures. No watered down arrangements. Glasses required.

Masterpieces of Piano Music
I am a piano teacher and bought this book as a reference book to determine which pieces might be appropriate for my students. I would rather have had it in the larger 11x14 version with bigger notes, however, and I always prefer the spiral binding. Still a good buy for what it is.

Great selection
I love the variety of pieces in this book. The only fault I can find is that it has not been very well proof-read. I now keep a pen on the piano, ready to put in missing sharps, flats, naturals, etc., which is very irritating in an otherwise fine selection.
