The chart begins with a rubato chorale introduction that weaves in and out of several interesting reharmonizations. The melody features a variety of colorful orchestrations, countermelodies and textures that lead to the solo section. Solos in the Tenor Sax and Trumpet are followed by a vamp with ample space for a drum solo that builds to a soaring tutti out chorus. The chart closes out with colorful cluster voicings that culminate in a light, understated pyramid. This chart works well if you're looking to slow things down or need a change of pace in your program.
