About Mahjong Variations
Originally composed for Percussion Ensembles and Erhu in 2013, this piece has been arranged for piano 4 hands and also for the piano solo. I started composing this Piano solo version in Aug 2018 and finished in Oct 2019.
Mahjong is a game originated in China and people around the world (even in the West) have been playing this game. For this piano solo piece, I used the different winning combinations to form different variations. This piano solo version differs from the previous versions as I edited and added in a few variations in this piece.
Mahjong Variations is dedicated to my friend Mr Liao Se Wei.
