(Rohrblatt Nr. 26, 2011 - Heft 4) // The disc opens on an overtly jazzy note with Low Agenda for bassoon and contrabass - the work lasts less than four minutes and has several attractive passages for both instrumentalists. (musicweb-international, May 2011) // This piece has a jazzy feel, and my favorite moment is when the two instruments reach a raucous groove with the bassoon growling out one of its notes. Much of the lines sound like written improvisations, and this gives a certain energy and spontaneity to the piece. The repertoire embraces everything from puckish humour and jubilance to haunting modernism and lyrical radiance. Wolfgang is especially inventive in frisky and poetic material for such pairings as bassoon and double bass, as in 'Low Agenda' (GRAMOPHONE, August 2011) // Groovy could almost describe the first track, Low Agenda with the contrabass' s jazzy pizzicato beat, complementing the smoky, saxophone-style writing for the bassoon.
