Composed by Haydon Harvey. Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 13 pages. Haydon Harvey #3572453. Published by Haydon Harvey (A0.1012008).

Written for flute with 12-string guitar accompaniment, "Longing" is a folk inspired piece with an improvisatory feel to it. As the piece the begins, the guitar just plays the open strings until the second section begins. The piece can be accompanied with a 6-string guitar if desired, however that depth of sound will be lost compared to that of a 12-string does provide. Plucking a 12-string will be the main technical challenge for the guitar.
As mentioned earlier, the first section is improvisatory mainly for the flute but in the second section the flute follows many interval jump patterns usually in a scale motion.
