Composed by Traditional Mexican. Arranged by Edina Balczo. Classical,Film/TV,Holiday,Latin,Multicultural,World. Guitar Tab. 4 pages. Edina Balczo #761294. Published by Edina Balczo (A0.1160975).

This is a classical/Spanish guitar arrangement of La Llorona (the weeping woman). In Latin America the song is associated with the Day of the Dead.

There are countless versions of this Ranchera classic, but a personal favourite is performed by Chavela Vargas, whose deep, dramatic vocals brought this song to life in 2002s "Frida," a film about flamboyant Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Chavela Vargas appeared in the 2002 movie Frida, Frida, about Federico Garcia Lorca, singing the ominous La Llorona,The Crier, in a hoarse yet haunting voice. Chavela Vargas was a friend and a frequent house-guest of Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, and was close to Spanish author Federico Garcia Lorca.

The song also appeared in the popular movie/cartoon Coco.
