This traditional spiritual has its roots in Africa. Patsy Ford Simms' treatment is simple, yet fresh...perfect for today's choirs. The piano part gives the arrangement its special feel. From an educational standpoint, the 3-part edition is an excellent introduction to part singing. And the 2-part edition is just great for any young choir. Although the text is general, consider programming Kum Ba Yah at Christmas or in celebration of Kwanza.
