SKU: CY.CC3306

Composed by Gustav Mahler. Arranged by Charlie Vernon. 20th Century Late Romantic. Solo part and Piano accompaniment. Cherry Classics #CC3306. Published by Cherry Classics (CY.CC3306).

Gustav Mahler wrote the song cycle Kindertotenlieder (Songs on the Death of Children) in 1904 for voice and orchestra. The lyrics are from a group of 428 poems by Friedrich Rückert. Mahler chose five of the poems to set to music.

The music is very intimate, expressive and mournful.

Erik Saras and Charles Vernon have beautifully transcribed and edited the complete work of 25 minutes length for Tenor or Bass Trombone and Piano accompaniment for moderately advanced level performers.
