This is the first of four songs I wrote for what would come to be an EP, some 17 years after writing it. Each song was written for a member of a family that I met back in 2000, and each song was my way of showing their character, at least how I viewed them. So, this project is dedicated to them, and you know who you are. Know that I still love each of you and pray for you every day. This song, JOY OF BEING, is for the eldest daughter and has a dual meaning, for her it means the joy of being herself, while for others it relates to their thoughts of what a joy it must be to be her…this was the first of the songs written for the family back in 2006. I originally composed this for the flute because that was the instrument she started playing in her early teens. And no, the image is not her, because now she is a grown woman with kids of her own…AI can do some beautiful work.
