As an angel had told him not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife, even though she was expecting Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, we have to believe that Joseph loved Mary and was happy with the angel's news about his fiance and this song describes his feelings for her, ending with the heartfelt declaration, "Mary! Mary! Mary! I love you so!" "Joseph's Love Song" would serve beautifully as part of any Christmas program where Christmas carols are included and totally appropriate for use by schools and students where a religious emphasis is permitted. Church services would be a perfect setting for this piece in any and all parts of the Advent Season. Joseph's Love Song can be performed with male or female vocal plus piano.
