"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, how often would I have gathered thy children together, and ye would not!"
This song was inspired by two trips to Jerusalem. I love this city and all its rich complexity. But knowing its difficult past and future, my heart breaks along with it. It has been conquered at least 27 times and completely leveled 3 times. Yet it still thrives. Home to the most sacred place on earth for both Christians and Jews, plus the third most sacred spot for Muslims, it is the most cherished city in the world.About the Composer
