Although this aria was traditionally attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, recent research has shown that is was rather composer by his youngest son Johann Christian Bach. Moreover, the title Aria does not appear in the source (there is no title for this work in Anna Magdalena's Notebook). This score contains suggestions for the ornaments in accordance with the performance practice of the early Classical period.
