Easy intermediate pedal harp arrangement of this famous movement of Edvard Grieg's 'Peer Gynt Suite'.
Arranged in 2023 for Eve Walls, then a grade 2 level lever harp player. This is a pedal harp version of that same arrangement. It is obviously significantly reduced from the original work for orchestra, but if played with all the right dynamics and build-up to a climax, the same original theme and effects can be enjoyed by a soloist and their audience.
With its very recognisable melody lines and sparse pedal changes which relate directly to the melody, it is an enjoyable practice piece for pedaling skills (especially timing and the beginning of 'double pedalling').
Covering multiple ranges of the instrument, lots of dynamics and some nice soundboard slaps and glissando and tremolo effects, the arrangement is designed to let the harp shine.
Played with restrained excitement at the beginning and real gusto at the end, this can make a fun and exciting performance piece.
