The text is based on an evening prayer, but it might be used as an effective centering prayer at any time of day. The octavo is scored for unison voices on the first three stanzas, with the addition of a descant for the remaining verses, lending the piece well to small group prayer. The text changes only one word between each stanza, again, making it ideal for centering or meditation.
