Context: Ifach is a symphonic miniature written for concert band. It's an epic piece of music inspired by the landscape of the Ifach peak, located in Calpe (Alicante, Spain) and also by the escape of Edmond Dantès from the Chateau d'If, a prison island in the Mediterranean Sea. Both landscapes share the "if" part, that's why I mixed them into a piece of music.

Style: Very epic, inspired by film and game music. It starts with a slow introduction followed by a fast and epic section with trumpets and horns leading the music. There is a sort of interlude with a melodic waltz-like line played by the saxophones so as to contrast with the epicness of the rest of the piece. The musical language is very tonal and accesible for all the audiences.

Possible changes in the performance: It features a Harp/Piano part. If your concert band doesn't have any of these instruments, this part can be played by a Marimba as well. Also, the Soprano Sax and the Eb Clarinet can be ommited, as well as the instruments marked as opzionale in the score.

Difficulty: Intermediate, appropiate for students.
