This is an exuberant setting of Psalm 108 with its syncopated writing for voices and bass instrument. Kent Newbury creates a compelling rhythmic foundation for this text of praise while subtly varying the range and scope of the choral writing throughout the piece. The divisi and vocal ranges are moderate in scope until the final climax which exploits the highest notes of the tenor and soprano in an exciting manner.
