A version by the Poni-Tails reached number 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending November 16, 1959, and Katharine McPhee included the song in her 2017 album I Fall in Love Too Easily.
I’ll Be Seeing You gained a whole new audience after its inclusion in the popular 2004 film The Notebook, which starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a young couple who fall in love in the 1940s. Their story is read from a notebook in the present day by an elderly man (played by James Garner), telling the tale to a fellow nursing home resident (played by Gena Rowlands). Two famous performances of I’ll Be Seeing You are used in the film: the first by Billie Holliday, the second by Jimmy Durante.
Billie Holiday's 1944 recording of the song was the final transmission sent by NASA to the Opportunity rover on Mars when its mission ended in February 2019.
