The much loved hymn by Horatius Bonar to a tune by early English composer Thomas Tallis is set here for soprano solo and violin obbligato. The melody is familiar in its setting by Vaughan Williams as Five Variants on Dives and Lazarus. Of moderate difficulty, this would make a lovely prelude or offertory piece, and could also be used in concert settings. Two copies are required for performance.
