This is a particularly melodious setting of this famous text from Psalm 84. Stearns has established a reputation for gracious melodies and memorable lyricism and this anthem is no exception. A quiet opening from the organ sets the spirit of the work immediately and the lovely, flowing motion of the choral writing is a particular highlight of this setting. Indeed, the organ acts as not only partner, but a fifth voice, supporting the singers while providing its own statement.
