"How Exquisite Was My Joy" is a musical setting of an ancient scriptural text found in Alma 36.  Chiasmus is a form of ancient Hebraic poetry in which two or more clauses are related to each other through a reversal of structures in order to make a larger point; that is, the clauses display inverted parallelism or a form A B C D E D C B A. The central point is where Alma calls out to the Lord for forgiveness and he finds that he is born of God.  This is an eloquent song, filled with testimony and spirit; suitable for the advanced high-voiced classical singer.  More information at BetsyLeeBaileymusic.com.
