A jubilant, rhythmic setting of a classic Christmas text. Set in the form of a Rondeau, the voices and keyboard alternate throughout the work, combining and building at the end to a bell-like conclusion. Most of the choral sections are a cappella. The piece may be sung entirely in Latin; or the English verses provided may be combined with the Latin refrain Hodie Christus natus est and Gloria in excelsis Deo.
