In ABA form--The A theme has a celebratory feel with an infectious tune and jazz influenced rhythms and rich chord harmonies. The B theme is contrasting, in 2 part writing, yet continues the driving beat and is evocative of African drumming and call-and-response chant. (The repeated descending minor third pattern of the B theme sounded like "hey-oh"; hence the title.)
What a joy to play. And everybody will want to dance and groove when they hear it.
