This work is an arrangement of a piece originally written for solo harp by Adolfe Hasselmans, a harpist who was considered a virtuoso in his day. I have arranged it here for one or two flutes and piano, and have also ornamented the original melody considerably in order to make it more flute-like. It is an exciting and tuneful number and its flamenco flare makes this an audience-pleaser as an encore or program selection.
