Only a few of the thirteen pieces in the collection reflect the heartbreak and grief that followed, but, as Carol writes in her introduction, many musical friends encouraged her to try to keep playing and composing. Several of the pieces are dedicated to these friends, and many celebrate the beauty of trees or snow or even sleep. All the pieces are written in keys requiring no more than one sharp, and all are playable on full-sized lever harp or pedal harp. Minimal lever changes.
