Driving drum grooves, a straight rhythm, catchy melodies and much space for the soloists’ creativity - that’s how you could describe Otto M. Schwarz’s new composition Groovin’Around.The infectious beat will ensure that the audience will hardly be able to stay in their seats. This work offers soloists the opportunity to improvise, however written-out solos are also provided for those players who are unsure about improvisation, but the important thing is to relax, have fun and get into the groove.

Stuwende drumgrooves, een strak ritme, melodieën die goed in het gehoor liggen en veel ruimte voor de creativiteit van de solist - zo zou je Groovin’Around van Otto M. Schwarz kunnen omschrijven. Door de aanstekelijke beat zal hetpubliek moeite hebben om op zijn plaats te blijven zitten. Dit werk biedt solisten de mogelijkheid te improviseren. Er worden echter ook uitgeschreven solo’s meegeleverd voor solisten die deze techniek minder goed beheersen. Hetis belangrijk dat iedereen zich ontspant, plezier in het spelen heeft en gaat swingen.

Schwarz schreibt neben sinfonischen Werken bewusst auch Musik im modernen Pop-Stil für Blasorchester, wie z. B. Funk Attack und Band Fever, die bereits mit großem Erfolg weltweit aufgeführt werden. Auch bei Groovin' Around wird das Publikum nur schwer auf den Stühlen zu halten sein. Das Werk bietet den Solisten die Möglichkeit zu improvisieren; ausgeschriebene Solos sind ebenfalls enthalten, so dass sich alle Solisten überzeugend im Rampenlicht präsentieren können.
