6 Diversions on a well-known tune for woodwind quintet

These variations on the folk song, Early One Morning, were originally written in 1950 in response to a commission from Kent Education Committee for a piece to demonstrate the instruments of a chamber orchestra in a series of schools concerts. In 1984 David recast the variations for a quintet of young players in the Wiltshire Youth Orchestra, the new version retaining the feature of highlighting each player in turn with a free for all in the final Rumba.
This is a fun piece for quintets of intermediate standard and above and makes a good concert piece of approximately 7 minutes.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
