Published by G L Harvey (A0.869091).The theme music for this popular TV series has been carefully arranged for Concert/Wind Band. With school and amateur bands in mind, this arrangement is designed for beginner to intermediate players. It has easier 2nd parts as appropriate, Clarinet 3 for example remains below the break. Ranges for brass are carefully restricted within moderate limits. Parts are also cued or doubled throughout, and alternative versions of some parts are provided in different clefs/keys to allow for nonstandard ensembles. Percussion would add colour and gravitas, but are not essential for a convincing performance. The music follows the format of the opening TV sequence, with a quiet and mysterious introduction leading through various shared incarnations of the catchy and captivating main themes, building towards an exciting and dramatic final flourish.
