Twee keer vindt in dit contrastrijke werk een opbouw plaats van rustige spanning of meditatieve rust tot een hoogtepunt voor het complete orkest, waarna het hoofdgedeelte, een ritmisch vivo, zich ontvouwt. Golden Winds s’ouvre sur un thème nerveux et énergique joué dans le registre grave des bois qui se développe en canon et s’amplifie pour arriver un climax avec l’orchestre entier. L’ambiance s’apaise pour introduire un passage contemplatifqui met en avant d’abord les clarinettes, puis un thème opulent en forme de choral qui se transforme en un tutti ardent. Les "Vents Dorés" s’achèvent par une conclusion festive.
Golden Winds inizia con un tema energico eseguito nel registro grave dei legni che poi si sviluppa in canone amplificandosi fino ad arrivare al culmine con l’intero organico. La musica diventa più calma per introdurre un passaggiocontemplativo che mette dapprima in luce le caratteristiche dei clarinetti, e in seguito un tema opulento in forma di corale che si trasforma in un ardente tutti. I “Venti Dorati” terminano con una nota festiva.
