Gaudeamus Igitur (Latin: "So Let Us Rejoice") is a popular academic commencement song in many European countries, mainly performed at university and high-school graduation ceremonies. Despite its use as such, it is a jocular, light-hearted composition that is well-suited for performances of any kind. The hymn is thought to originate in a Latin manuscript from 1287. It is in the tradition of carpe diem ("seize the day"). This medium-difficulty arrangement for trombone or euphonium quartet includes both treble and bass clef parts.
