Premiered at Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin by soprano Barbara Wester as part of the Dublin International Symphonic Festival of 2004, the performance time of the Four Irish Songs is app. 15 to 20 minutes. The Piano-Vocal Score, Conductor's Score, and Orchestral Parts are all included. Some redistributing must be done by the pianist to present the cycle in recital, but it has been done without too much trouble and a little creativity. Several types of soprano voice are effective for the cycle, and dynamic, registral adjustments can be made without damaging the work. The first and fourth songs are quite flexible, the second and third off and on.
