By Wayne Shorter. By Wayne Shorter. Arranged by Jan Erik Paulsen. Jazz. Score and parts. 45 pages. Jan Erik Paulsen #717848. Published by Jan Erik Paulsen (A0.1116214).

Footsteps is a jazz standard first released on the Miles Davis album Miles Smiles in 1966. In this arrangement, the original stacked fourth between sax and trumpet builds up in a tutti section based on quartal harmony. Following multiple solos with various backgrounds, the arrangement ends up with the original theme. This is a relatively easy-to-play big band arrangement of an iconic tune. It may be useful for amateurs, student big bands, and even professional bands with a Miles Davis project on the repertoire.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
