1. Flânerie
2. Fluster
3. Flyswatter
4. Flippant
5. Fluphenazine
6. Floating
7. Flit
Each movement is fairly self-contained, and ranges from being simply evocative of the title work, as in “Floating” or “Fluster” to little mini-dramas, as in “Flyswatter” and “Fluphenazine.”
I intended this piece to be fun and challenging, as I knew this to be the kind of work that the commissioners would enjoy. I want to thank Nicole Riner and Theresa Bogard for placing their trust in me to write this work for them, and to the Wyoming Arts Council for helping to fund it.
