Für Luigi Boccherinis (1743-1805) alljährlich dem preußischen Hof zugedachten Quintettkompositionen erhielt er von König Friedrich Wilhelm II. den Titel und die Besoldung eines Hofkomponisten. Er konnte sich aber nicht entschließen, sein sonniges Madrid mit dem preußisch-strengen Berlin zu vertauschen. Das Fandango-Quintett wurde in dieser Ausgabe für den praktischen Gebrauch von Siegfried Behrend bearbeitet. Es enstpricht dem Quintett No. 4 (G 448).
