So it's only taken me (ahem) years to realise that if oboes can do jazz and swing, then so can the English Horn, or cor anglais, if you prefer. This is one of the sultriest songs (IMHO), with one of the sultriest intro's ever. There you go, reasoned musical judgement. Great for encores, jazz evenings (just watch their faces when you walk onto the platform carrying what looks like a pregnant oboe), school/college music events (see comments in brackets above).....
