In this monograph, the author depicts various aspects of the life of the pedagogue, composer and critic Ferdinand Pfohl (1862-1949), who, apart from the other things, initiated a whole range of events in that time period's musical life (e.g. Busoni's concerts, the festival J.S.Bach New Society in 1929) and worked closely with G. Mahler, S. Wagner, E. Humperdinck and others. The first part of the book gives a picture of Pfohl's life, a systematic list of his works follows as well as written documents about his life and work, the majority of which appears in a published form for the first time. The monograph is published in German.
