Composed by Gerda Blok-Wilson. A Cappella,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,Spiritual,World. Octavo. 14 pages. CanSing #454684. Published by CanSing (A0.847985).

Premiered February 2022 by the Vancouver Chamber Choir , Vancouver Youth Choir and Argyle High School Choir at the concert, JUST SOCIETY. Poet Sara Teasdale explores two types of fear: the fear of the dark and the fear of being left alone. As the person lies in the dark they express "My heart that beats too fast will rest too soon." The theme, of course, can also be used for youth experiencing the fear of any abusive situation including more contemporary examples of online bullying and harassment. Canadian composer, Gerda Blok-Wilson has written a socially relevant choral piece that could be effective at any choral concert but especially one with a socially conscious theme.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
