the piece radiates Italian lightness "leggerezza italiana" with catchy motives and syncopations in the two themes.
It was especially written for a performance with natural trumpets, the so-called clarini without valves, which only allow the tones of the overtone series, but can of course also be performed with modern trumpets. Duoparts for trumpets in C, Bb and Picc A are included as well as an ad libitum timpani part. A rendition with clarini needs skilled players, with modern instruments it is of intermediate difficulty. The organ part is not difficult.
