The work Exclamation was written in the spring of 2005 as the compulsory work for the cello category of the 58th Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2006. The title of the work indicates the fundamental emotive expression underlying the piece. The work is structured in three parts and unfolds smoothly in a single current, without a break. Each part, while fully autonomous in expression and quite distinct from the others, in a certain way represents the notion of exclamation . In view of the mutual relationships between the individual parts, the nature of the piece's structural emphasis and the tempos, one may assume that the score lends itself to a more varied type of performance - the instrumental part, in fact, invites several interpretations.
