Escape suggests a narrative with a central character who must overcome numerous obstacles, lures, and entanglements to obtain freedom. This central figure is represented by a simple musical motive: a descending half-step, followed by a rising perfect fourth. As the fast-paced journey unfolds, this motive is recast in many shapes and settings.
