Commissioned by the 2002 Arizona All-State Jazz Ensemble, this mambo is an ensemble tour de force! It features some great unison lines in the winds, as well as wonderfully conceived rhythm parts. Long recognized for his ability to write authentic music based on the clave rhythm for big band, Matt has pulled out all the stops in this chart. Solo space for alto saxophone 1 and piano.
