This orchestration of the overture from the multidisciplinary chamber opera Noctum was commissioned by Cre.Art Project and composed by Marcos Fernández-Barrero during his residency with the company in Oviedo, Spain. The piece was first premiered by the Symphony Orchestra of Asturias, conducted by Rossen Milanov, on November 25, 2016, in Oviedo, and later performed by the Symphony Orchestra of Madrid, conducted by Victor Pablo, at the Auditorio Nacional de España in Madrid on February 27, 2018.
