All notes are in First Position and utilizes three part harmony that benefits ensembles lacking adequate instrumentation. Viola and 2nd violin are doubled as are cello and contrabass making this is a very playable and full sounding composition. This piece is very suitable for your students first concert and features the back and forth “echoing” effect between instruments, hence the name Ditto. Nothing more than half notes, dotted half notes and quarter notes. If this composition appeals to you please consider the many others in this string series.
