Dies Infernus means 'Day of Hell'. The reason for this title is the dreadful disaster that befell the Dutch village of Kolhorn in 1788, when the whole village went up in flames. Afterwards, a huge appeal was launched to rebuild the unfortunate village. Many people were willing to contribute, resulting in the collection of the enormous sum at the time of eighteen thousand guilders, with which the village could be rebuilt. This work was commissioned by Harmonie De Eendracht in Kolhorn to mark its 110th Anniversary.

Dies Infernus betekent 'Dag van de Hel'. Reden voor deze titel is de verschrikkelijk ramp die zich in 1788 voltrok in het Nederlandse dorp Kolhorn waarbij het hele dorp in vlammen opging. Hierna werd een grootscheepse hulpactie opgezetom het onfortuinlijke dorp opnieuw op te bouwen. Velen toonden zich solidair, waardoor een voor die tijd enorm bedrag van achttien duizend gulden bij elkaar werd gebracht, en waardoor het dorp opnieuw kon worden opgebouwd. Ditwerk werd geschreven in opdracht van Harmonie De Eendracht uit Kolhorn ter gelegenheid van het 110-jarig bestaan.

Dies Infernus offenbart den 'Tag der Hölle'. Die Namensgebung dieses Titels beruht auf dem fürchterlichen Unglück, welches das holländische Dorf Kolhorn 1788 heimsuchte, als das gesamte Dorf in Flammen aufging. Später wurden große Anstrengungen unternommen, das vom Schicksal heimgesuchte Dorf wieder aufzubauen. Viele Menschen waren gewillt einen Beitrag zu leisten, wodurch eine stolze Summe von damals achtzehntausend Gulden zusammen kam, und das Dorf wieder errichtet wurde. Dieses Werk ist eine Auftragskomposition der Harmonie De Eendracht in Kolhorn zum hundertzehnjährigen Bestehen.

Dies Infernus signifie 'Journée d'Enfer'. Ce titre tire son origine de la catastrophe effroyable qui s'est produite en 1788 dans le village néerlandais de Kolhorn, alors entièrement détruit par les flammes. Par la suite, une action de solidarité grande échelle a été mise sur pied pour reconstruire l'infortuné village. Nombreux ont été les bienfaiteurs, si bien qu'un montant énorme pour l'époque de dix-huit mille florins a été réuni et que le village a pu ?tre reconstruit. Cette œuvre fut commandée par l’Harmonie De Eendracht de Kolhorn l’occasion de son 110e anniversaire.
